How to make pear and berry crumble?

Options
Hello All,

I wondered if I could pick your brains for a recipe.I want to make a crumble tonight as I hjave friends coming tomorrow for bonfire nigth. I have loads of frozen berries and 3 pears, and thought they'd make a nice crumble together, but I'm not sure:

a) whether or not to stew the pears, and if so how much sugar to use
b) is 3 pears sufficient or do I need to get a few more
c) what kind of nuts will give it a lovely crunchy texture

Thank you so much, I know between you'll have the answers!

Pozz x

  • When I make apple and raspberry crumble, I never pre-cook the fruit. this might be the same for pears?

I agree with the above - and as for sugar it depends on how tart any of the fruit is - sample it and guess :)

I've used mixed nuts, before - it works well.

Oats in the topping will add crunchy texture - good for you too!
