Help re Default notice from Littlewoods

i first saw CAB about my debts beginning May who sent SOA and offer of payments and have had no reply from three of the creditors ..littlewoods , littlewoods direct or additions .. in june i had letter from littlewoods wanting me contact them concerning account

which i did and told them i was dealling with cab who had written to them

they claimed they had no corrospondence ..although i have copy of letter they wrote to my advisor at cab dated 10th june .. i had just been sending payment to all 3 as advised by CAB ...

today i recieved a notice of default dated 5th august and i just recieved today 16th august

requiring full payment of arrears which are around 199 pounds by Saturday 18th i phoned them up and said cab were dealing with them for me ...they claimed again they had no record of any corospondence and gave me until Monday to get a copy faxed through to them .....when my advisor only works monday and her appointment book is full ...

i am going down at 10 in the morning to see if i can get advice from one of the other advisors and to leave copy of letter for her to see

also said this was the first time i had had any letter concerning my account appart from the regular statements which instead of wanting paid every 28 days they are getting paid nearly every 21 - 24 days in order to pay by date on statement

anyone else had a problem with littlewoods or associated catalougues

  • Hi,

Littlewoods are OK once they refer you on to their internal debt collection service. NDR( I think this is Nationwide Debt Recovery) are the same company as Littlewoods and they are very easy to negotiate with as long as you pay a monthly sum and renegotiate every three to six months and update them on your situation.

    I hope this helps you.

    thanks for your reply
..i managed to speak to an advisor at CAB today and she said not to worry and will pass the letters onto my debt advisor on monday and hopefully hear from her ...according to there records my details offer of payment were sent on the 10th june and again in july (faxed this time) along with another when they didnt reply to that ... also said the same it is probably better that it is passed over they say sometimes less hassle
    hopefully hear something soon

    Hope it works out well.

I have learnt over the months that all the debts and the companies involved are not worth losing sleep over.

They would rather get a little money than no money. In an ironic way you hold the upper hand in negotiating as they will accept your offers of payment (however small) instead of taking you to court. As long as you can provide evidence of your financial difficulties i.e bank statements, income/outgoings

    Good luck
