...sounds very techie eh.
I've purchased a refurb'd laptop - very happy with it - but when I'm typing my cursor key seems to jump to where ever my pointer is ... if that makes sense?
I've no idea if it's to do with shortcut keys but it's driving me crazy. I'm a touch typist and it's taking me forever to type the simplest things
I'm praying this is easily fixed and not an issue with my laptop
Does anyone have any ideas??
Tx

If you go to Mouse options in the control panel, I think there is something there.0

Had a look but can't see anything obvious?
Has anyone had this problem? Right now - if I stop typing..I see the line cursor ok...say the mouse cursor is somewhere else on the screen...when I start my typing it seems to do lots of shortcut things like either select where the mouse cursor is..or even highlight the area between the line and the mouse cursor.
Am I making sense? I have to everything slowly as it sets off really easily - I know I type fast but that's not the cause

Is it a dell?Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0

My mum has a Fujitsu laptop and I think what happens is your palms maybe touching the mousepad when your typing like it did on hers. There is a button on hers so you can switch the mousepad off either above or below the mousepad and you can use a USB mouse.
This may not be the ideal solution as it means you buying a USB mouse but not alot else you can do I'm afraid.Always looking for a bargain and to help0 -
when I fist used my laptop it would do that too.
You just have to angle your fingers a bit more so you arent brushing the touch pad as you type.0 -
I looked at switching off my touchpad but it wouldn't allow - had no option to do it...managed to find a fix online. Downloaded Synaptics (had never neard of it) which has allowed me to disable the touchpad - voila!! Maybe I'm not such a dumb blonde afterall...lol
Thanks for all the replies xx0
