There is one at Coventry M6 J2 that I could get for those dates, so it would cost me £98 for the 2 nights, for 2 breakfasts and one dinner, which I think is fab.
That hotel has full leisure facilities which is always good ;)
So, after a hard day wandering around the NEC drooling over the newest concept cars, you can chill out in the jacuzzi before dinner. I'd say that's a win win situation.

I'd grab that deal while it's there.
There's no shame in catching the bus into town and getting the train over to the NEC. Why make life difficult for yourself?
Plus, I've booked that hotel a hell of a lot for clients who were working at the NEC events and I've yet to have a complaint.

This hotel at Junction 2 doesn't seem to be served by buses. It is not conveniently situated if you want to use public transport. Remember too that Coventry Station is not in the centre. It is a 20+ minute walk from the bus station, so another bus would be needed.

Going off your given location, do I detect local knowledge?
Could you recommend a local taxi firm?
My guys are usually using their own transport but I know from personal experience that the slog into the NEC can be quite a bind.
  • I'm going to suggest staying somewhere near to Brum city centre and getting the train straight in. Much less fuss and the train fare will probably be cheaper than the parking. Plus, you will have plenty of choices of places to eat and drink within walking distance for the evening instead of paying hotel prices. Brum has some fab and very cheap restaurants.

Take a look at this place in coleshill, its cheap and standard is fine - I've stayed there!
Anywhere in solihull would be alright and honestly the drive isnt bad at all. There may be queues into the NEC but then you'd expect that anyway. Hope you enjoy your trip

I was born and brought up in Coventry so I know it pretty well. The most reliable taxi firm I know there is Allens. They've been there for years and have a good reputation.

A little more local knowledge. I know this place too. The hotel part is at the rear, accessed by the restaurant. The bar at the front is a horrendous dump, full of rowdies from Chelmsley Wood at weekends. When we did an inspection there the carvery meal was abysmal. Suffice to say that I now decline eating and drinking there even though it's free!:o

There are other places in the Coleshill area to stay. Even though it is close to the NEC you still need to get there by road, and crucially get out again. Train is by far the best option.
