I've been using Open Office since it first came out & before that its predecessor Star Office & I like them both but a mate at work sent me the link for this & I have to say I've been pretty impressed so far. It just feels more like a professional product.
The only (slight) downside so far is it's about twice the size of Open Office. Still a lot smaller than Microsoft Office though.
Click Here for the Lotus Symphony homepage.

Shouldnt this be better posted on the freebies board or the techie board - its not a debt free item at all.0

I couldn't get on with Open Office but I will bookmark that site at the moment we have a students home version of Office 2007 with three licences but if we add another pc (which we could there are 5 people in the house) then it would be better than buying another office.0

If I remember correctly this is based on some quite old openoffice code?
With openoffice 3 coming out soon (September) I suspect that is a better bet.

Someone was spamming about this the other day, which means that I will now never ever ever use it.0

It does not say on the OP's linked page that it is free, merely that it is "provided at no charge" and is "free to download". When someone finds out what the real experience and real pricing is, can they let this thread know?
[ Edit ] Had a look at the "why is this free doc" that will only open in IE, not in Firefox. It seems that an email client is not included. However Web publishing seems to be.0
