Hello all,
I have loads of VHS videos (family, old tv programs) in a cupboard and I would like to transfer them to my computer to then be able to convert them to DVD.
Would anyone know what cable I need to use to link both machines up ? and where I could find one ?
Many thanks

I just use a standard coax cable straight into the tv card on the pc, costs nothing.0

Not everyone has a TV card on their PC.
It would be far easier to use a stand alone DVD recorder than a PC, especially if the PC is none too fast. You were probably going to get one anyway! That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

I've had this for a while, brilliant piece of kit.
Basically your VHS player cables go into the front of the box (L/R/AV), and the box plugs into a USB port, and the mains power. Thats pretty much it. You can view videos through the computer, record, convert, edit. It's all good.0 -
I used this piece of kit into my laptop, cost £14.
EasyCap USB Adaptor
And got these results from a VHS tape made over 21 years ago, and the DVD I made is even better!

And this from a live TV broadcast (sorry Martin!)
