AS results? Confused.

Really? I was pretty certain that I didn't submit an AS grade that I got in "Critical Thinking" (another subject forced upon us) to UCAS. Apologies for my misleading advice if that is the case.
Either way, if I were to drop a subject that I obtained a grade U in - I would decline it, as I'm not going to use it in my life ever again."My mother said I must always be intolerant of ignorance but understanding of illiteracy. That some people, unable to go to school, were more educated and more intelligent than college professors" - Maya Angelou0 -
AS marks (along with teachers predicted grades for your ALevel) are on your UCAS form for uni. You will get or not get interviews for unis on these results.
.
I am sorry but I have to disagree with this, it might have just been my school but our cash in date for our AS was not untill march of the next year (ie for me it was march 2007) unless you wanted to resit in the june. This meant that the universities cound NOT see our grades. We had to put the SUBJECT on the ucas form, but we put the grades as pending. The A2 predictions were based on the AS results (and our general work and progress)
The only time unis can see the raw results and AS grades is if they ask for them, which I mentioned in my first post.
I am aware that I am a year out of the system but my brother is still there and I dont think that I am that out of touch.0 -

Its not wrong, It is dependent on the school. Some cash in AS grades and others decline them until the A2 is completed. If they have been cashed in then you have to put the grades on the UCAS form. Mine cashed in the AS, so I had to put my AS grades on the form.0 -

I am 19, and a "year out of the system" too. But this was the case when I applied. We didn't have a choice of sending results as pending, what use would that be to unis and you.. that would just highlight that you didn't preform and were having to resit. Helix maybe right, depends on the college.. but I don't understand the benefit to anyone putting them as pending.Entering competitions galore, not won anything yet!

They managed to get him into a different college though, where he was offered to start from scratch. He did 2 weeks before dropping out and did an apprenticeship with an electrical company. He finished his apprentiship, worked his way to management and is now on a wage his dad could only dream of with a company car! He should really have been a teacher-he is very bright and brilliant with children, but he he now teaches with the sea cadets and is married to a teacher.
I just wanted to gove you a snapshot of a happy ending despite a lad with a lazy attitude!
My daughter is super-motivated but her younger brother is l-a-z-e-y and I don't think I will ever change that!Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0 -

I also got D for English lang at AS. I got a predicted B grade as I asked my teacher to put it down. I resat and got full marks A!
I know the predicted grades are shown on your ucas form, so ask your teacher if they would be kind enough to give you a realistic grade not just based around your as results but on your coursework and effort.
They might just do you a favour. Make sure you make them proud by getting a better mark.0 -
At my dd`s school you had to get at least a D at as to continue to a2.0

I got a U in General studies in AS, but when I went to uni they didnt even look at it or ask me anything about it. I think it only matters if its one of the subjects required for the desired uni course.
This may be because some unis don't recognise General Studies usually red brick and Oxbridge ones.0
