Does anyone know if M&S school shoes are any good? I've looked in Clarks and with three to buy for, it will cost about half as much at M&S?
Thanks0 -
Personally you get what you pay for with smart/formal shoes.0

I was enticed by a 3 for 2 offer at M&S this time last year. One pair of shoes lasted only a few days and M&S replaced them and the replacements lasted only till January before they fell apart. The other 2 pairs I bought lasted the year but had holes in the bottom by July. I will never again opt for the cheap option because it wasn't! Mind you we've moved to Brussels where kids' shoes are even more expensive than Clarks or Startrite so all those who think Clarks are expensive are very fortunate to be able to purchase shoes at such a price.0 -
Thanks for that. I'm not sure where my nearest Clarks outlet is. I've tried emailing them and I waiting for a reply.0

I'm really struggling with DS2 school shoes this year. He is going into Yr8 (he's 12) but is small for his age and only a size 2 shoe. Lots of the clarkes ones have the toy in - you can imagine what he says about that. The trainer style ones they do don't fit as he has wide, flat feet so needs orthotics. He wants trendyish shoes that don't look like his 6 year old brothers. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

You can't see the toy pocket when the shoes are off, and especially not under the orthotic insoles he'll be wearing. Comes in handy when he wants to take money/mp3 player to school and needs a secure place to hide it....Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I am hoping to get my girls shoes from my local Clarks outlet in Portsmouth, should be quite a bit cheaper0

Ah thanks for trying to show the positives ailuro2. It is that fact that his friends little brothers could well have the shoes and take the mickey which makes it a no no, he is sensitve about being small but usually good hearted. I looked at the startrite website and they might have a suitable style. Does anyone know how the sizes differ he is a 2H is clarkes. I will get them fitted not buy online but just wanted to know which styles might be suitable in advance. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
