ahh thank you, I just rang up student finance and they said its either or. . I'm currently privately renting and the housing benefit is a massive help, so to lose that would worry me, so I think Im going to opt out of the maintennace grant and just see if I can survive.

Will I be eligible for child care help? That would be the most beneficial (sp) to me
Im so desperate to go to uni, I want to put my life back on track, lucky for me my uni is literally accorss the road, so no travel costs.

I don't understand what you mean about "opting out" of the maintenance grant (and presumably loan). You will be assessed as receiving this money, whether you take it or not so there's no point in not taking it. You'll be no worst off with the student funding and as has been said, you'll probably be a bit better off.

As far as childcare costs are concerned, have you looked at www.direct.gov.uk yet? All the details about this are dealt with very thoroughly on there. You need to get to grips with the whole funding thing because it sounds at the moment as if you're just floundering and getting yourself in a tizz!
