                    You may have heard of a recent government announcement that in future charities would be able to accept verbal Gift Aid declarations without having to confirm the details in writing afterwards (which is the current system).
If you did hear this and got all excited on behalf of your charity, be aware that what was less publicised - in fact not publicised at all - was that if a charity wanted to take advantage of this they'd be required to keep digital recordings of phone conversations, text messages and emails for six years!
The big players may be leaping up and down with excitement about this, but it's not going to do a lot for the vast majority of charities, I suspect!
