gas contract

Hi
Contracts don't automatically renew unless it's a business tariff, you would need to check this out with them, domestic gas and elec contracts are on a 28 day rolliing contract and the only time you can be caught out is with termination fee on a fixed rate. If it is a business then you need to give notice and so ask them what notyice you have to give and state you haven't received contract renwal documents and so can't be held to it.0 -
Sorry yes it is a small business, Recieved a letter May 2008 to say my contract ends 02/10/08, to let them know before 05/07/08 if I didn't want to renew (It would automatically do so if I didn't let them know) which I did by telephone, (because I found a much better supplier for my electricity.)They now say that a phone call is not acceptable and I needed to do it in writing, which they failed to mention! Is there any way I can get out of this?0

Doubtful, I would think that in the teeny tiny small print it will have a clause about being notified in writing.
As a matter of interest, who was your cheaper quote from.
I only ask as my contract will be up in the new year and I too will be shopping around.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
