Bagless Vacuum cleaner recommendations

The current Mrs ecogeorge needs a new vacuum cleaner. She tells me it must be a bagless model preferably with edge to edge cleaning.
We have had Dysons' in the past but find bits break easily. We have also had a bagless Panasonic but although half the cost of a Dyson it only lasts half the time untill it falls apart.
Admittedly we are hard on vacs , living in the country with dogs and an unfinnished extension.
Can anyone recommend a cleaner , - not cheapest but best value?

Why bagless? We've been through a couple of Dysons and now have a Miele Cat and Dog. OK, so you have to buy bags but you don't have to look at a container of muck and dust and emptying is much easier. It's a much better cleaner and has even survived OH's less-than-careful handling which is more than can be said for the Dysons.0

I have a Hoover hurricane, upright model. I don't know if they are still sold, but it has done me well with a dog, 2 cats and 2 kids. I found it more powerful than a dyson at the time it was purchased, but with advances in design I don't know if that would still be so.I live in my own little world, but it's ok as everyone knows me here
