Just Graduated , Left Job - JSA?

I agree that a gap on your CV is not going to be a big problem if you've only just graduated. Most graduate jobs tend to have really inflexible start dates and the application process in itself can last months. It's sort of expected that if you apply for a graduate job after you've sat your last exam as opposed to at the start of your final year, there will be a sort of in-between period. A lot of people use this to go travelling as it's their last big opportunity to get away before entering the real world. You could easily explain a break with some travelling around the world - only worth doing so though if you've actually been anywhere interesting before and can embellish those experiences.

I also agree that temping is a good idea. If you go for another graduate job, you'll probably have a gap anyway between securing an offer and actually getting to start. Temping fills in the gap in your CV, but perhaps more importantly, gives you a source of income to live on!
My advice would always be to go for a local temping agency rather than a big national. In my experience, they tend to have better contacts and thus more chance of getting you something fast.
Good luck job hunting.

Proof that university doesn't teach people the ability to run their own affairs properly.
Instead they come crying to the MSE forums, and then cry some more when someone says something they don't want to hear.
Get your finger out of your backside and find another job.
For the record, I lost my job in January, due to serious illness. After recovering, I was back in work by the start of May. I had an ileostomy operation and claimed Incapacity Benefit - I could not physically work for 4 months.
I didn't go crying to anyone, I went out there, applied and applied and applied for jobs.....and eventually found a job that is much better than the one I had before I was ill.
So I have been there myself before you say I don't have a clue what I'm talking about.0 -
This was my situation when I left uni in 2003.
I had a job interview for a role in the last week in June. I got the job, but didn't start until end Sept. I asked was I able to claim JSA, they told me yes I can. In the meanwhile, I tried to look for something temp and couldn't find anything at all. I didn't mind working at the NMW for a time as sometimes in these situations, you want something to occupy yourself for 45-50 hours per week - including lunches and travelling time.
I am currently unemployed and getting rather bored and need to do something with my mind for 45-50 hours per week."The reason we're successful, darling? My overall charisma, of course." -- Freddie Mercury
