Nav4all is free with voice...
also O2 do a bolt for 7.30 a month for data (internet) this includes mapping I suppose if you use it 16 hrs a day 7 days a week you may get a txt to "calm" down as there must be some limit..
so you could use nokia maps at that time...0 -
I've got the n95. I'm on 3 with the unlimited net access, the maps are good, but better when i use the google maps overlay
Also i Won a years full worldwide voice navigation and love it!

I understood the thread.
Nokia maps is free to dowload and see the maps, where you are etc.
But can you navigate from A to B without paying subscription fee? I don't think so
Whilst downloading Nokia maps is free, you can only download for free if you have a bolt on for net access, otherwise you will be charged to connect and download (not from Nokia, but from the network).
The clue is in post #2ie the mapping is stored on the phone's memory and not downloaded (and therefore charged for for internet downloads)
The user had to modify some settings to prevent AGPS connecting to the network incurring charges.
The only other time it would connect is if you had configured Traffic info which would also connect to the network incurring charges.0 -

TomTom can be installed onto a mobile phone, the issue has been (resolved now) about using the internal GPS receiver with TomTom instead of their own external unit.

Dude the OP wants to know if there is going to be anymore money spending after purchasing his phone.
The answer is in post #10 because in one way or another he would have to pay.
He may not have to pay for network data charges, but what you are saying is that he needs to buy a Tomtom app0 -

Where would I find how to do this, my husband has been trying with great frustration for ages.Greyer by the minute - Older by the hour - Wiser by the day0 -
Ditto post above.... AFAIK you can install TT on the N95 etc, but the internal GPS problem still applies on the 6210n and others as far as I know.0

No idea about the 6210n. I use it on an N82 and I know the N95 is okay too.
There are a couple of files required to make it work. The files fool the phone into believing the internal GPS receiver is actually a Bluetooth device.
I can't vouch for the authenticity of this post but a quick google search brings up the information about getting TomTom to work with the internal GPS.

@edi7on - Nobody is talking about installing hookie software. It's about data charges being incurred whilst trying to use Satnav on a phone.0
