Apartment Cost / Nice Areas in Liverpool?

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone with prior experience knows how much 1 bed apartments are in a decent area of Liverpool, and what those decent areas are? I could probably afford £500 PCM on rent which is about 40, would that get a nice one? I've had a look on Gumtree and Rightmove/Findaproperty, but can't tell which ones are decent.

Preferrably one with a garage (Which is REALLY hard to find!)

I have a motorbike, so having it on street in a dodgy area is a no go :(

Thanks!

  • Where are you going to be working? There are lots of decent areas, it has improved a LOT in the past 10 years. There are still some very dodgy areas, but much easier to find a decent one now!

I've lived and worked Liverpool for a while, I just don't have any experience of living in Liverpool other than Crosby (Which is too far from work) and Wavertree!

I'd prefer east of the city centre rather than Everton/Bootle/Crosby etc, I've lived in Crosby before and it's miles away from work!

    Thanks
  • Well to be honest, parts of Toxteth have been improved a lot. Aigburth is nice. Very middle class area but watch out for the speed cameras! Walton isn't too bad, especially in the bit where there's been regeneration even though it's not east of the centre. Avoid the Dingle like the plague. There's always those nice new apartments along the mersey river bank that they've built along Riverside Drive

Aye I've seen some on Riverside drive that look nice, I'll take a look, thanks!

I like Woolton too, but the apartments there and Gateacre look a bit dingy!
  • There's always the Wirral if you want nice - cheap to use the tunnel on a bike too I think

Yep it's free! I've seen one with a garage that's right over the road from Arrowe Park Hospital, I think its ok around there!

  • Yeah it's ok......I'm not sure on rental prices on the Wirral but Greasby is ok, better than Upton and make sure you're not on the Noctorum estate. I spent 21 years on the Wirral so know it pretty well, especially as the area around Arrowe Park has lots of driving test routes!

  • Hello

Aigburth is a really nice place to live in Liverpool and I think you could probably pick up even a 2 to 3 bed house around the Lark Lane area for about 500 per month but it would be without garage, most probably.

Or maybe I'm a bit out of touch with rental prices in the area, it's been a while...
