Does anyone know if you receive the same sort of purchase protection with American Express as opposed to visa and mastercard?
Thanks in advance.

We ordered a dvd from a website in Jersey and paid by AMEX we later recieved an e-mail saying they had gone into recievership. We called AMEX and without argument they refunded the full amount back into our account,so yes I think they are as good as the others for that.bye hoo0

If you're talking about section 75 of the Consumer Credit act, it doesn't matter whether a card is Visa, Mastercard or Amex, the main thing is that it's a credit card.
In short yes, you get the same protection.0 -
I'm sorry Caped Avenger that's not quite the whole story; you are correct, it does not matter if your credit card is Visa, M/C or Amex, it will be covered by the CCA BUT, your Amex card has to be an Amex credit card NOT an Amex charge card. ISTR that Amex voluntarily offer similar protection but it is not guaranteed by statute.0
