help with display driver

Help! the display on my computer has gone haywire. the message on screen says i need to update the display drivers from windows update or the manufacturers site. I think I've found the update but it says I need to remove the old drivers first. I'm not a techie and am apprehensive about doing this in case the download isn't the right one. Won't deleting the old drivers make the display worse.

if you right click my computer --> properties --> hardware -->device manager
it will give you a list of drivers on your pc
select 'display adapters' the double click 'driver' tab this will then prompt for 'update driver'
a wizard will then guild you thru the process.
hope this helps - pm me if any probs.
the above is for XP but w98 and millenium are similar.

for most graphic card updates you need to uninstall the version you are using. if you are in xp make a save point so if you mess it up you can go back to previous driver. you wont mess it up though it is THAT simple.
uninstall your current drivers through the add/uninstall option in control panel.
reset pc and when you start up your pc recognisies you have a graphics card with out a driver, it then searches for the update and installs it.what is the plural of moose?
