Hi - can anyone join in? :D This thread will be great for inspiration!

We're going for a storecupboard raid for the next couple of weeks as we're saving for something special...

Toast or porridge with orange juice all week for breakie
Lunches all week alternate PB & J/turkey for hubby, Mixed Bean Pate/Lentil Pate on toast for me and lil 'un - water to drink

    Friday:
Saturday: Chilli (in the freezer) and rice
Sunday: Toad in the Hole (sausages in freezer) with veg and potatoes
Monday: Lentil Shepherd's Pie (made with a thick lentil and bean broth I have in the freezer)
Tuesday: Mackerel and Sweetcorn Pasta (will mix a can of mackerel into a cheesy sweetcorn and broccoli pasta I have in freezer)
    Wednesday: Turkey Korma and rice
    Thursday: Egg Fried Rice

So all I should need to get from the shops are:
    Orange juice
    Milk
    Yoghurts
    Yeast
    Can of mackerel
Lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes for lunches/side salads (have carrots, potatoes and freezer veg left)
    And some apples and bananas
Love and compassion to all x

And here's mine, after a last minute switcharoo to today's plan:

    Friday: Moussaka from freezer
Saturday: Lasagne (with 2 portions for the freezer)
Sunday: Homemade meatballs in a tomato and bacon sauce with pasta (I know, pasta 3 days in a row, but it's good)
    Monday: Toad in the Hole
Tuesday: Jacket Potato with melee beans
Wednesday: At mum's (she'll let me know what we're having, bless her :) )
    Thursday: Lasagne from the freezer
    Friday: at a friend's wedding

I've got bread rolls and sandwich goodies for lunch (although I've got leftover pasta salad from tonight's tea, and I've put the bones from the roast chicken I got from Mr Ms into the freezer to make stock at some point soon!)
Continually trying the Grocery Challenge. Gotta keep trying!

i still havnt done meal planning yet, although i keep meaning too :o .

what have you put down- just your normal/ favourite meals or have you set a budget per meal?

i would like to try and do one with a max of 75p per person (6 of us) to start with, shouldnt be too hard... £4.50 a meal.....

im lacking imagination at the moment though, and my cooking skills are limited to about 5 good dishes :D

The recipe was originally from MrT: Spicy Bean and Sweet Potato Stew But I've adapted it ;)

Spicy Bean & Sweet Potato Stew

1 tsp each of cumin, coriander and chilli powder 5p
    1/2 onion, diced 5p
1 large sweet potato, cubed 35p
    2 carrots, diced 10p
handful of cubed butternut squash 10p (optional - I had some in the freezer)
    1 tin kidney beans 14p
    1 tin pinto beans 33p
    1 tin chopped tomatoes 21p
    tomato puree 5p
    3/4 pint stock free

Fry the spices and then add the onion, sweet potato, carrots & squash and saute for a couple of minutes. Then add the rest of the ingredients. Bring to the boil and simmer for about 30-40mins. Total cost £1.38 for 8 portions, cost per portion 17p

Can be served on its own or with tortilla chips (2 bags @ 18p each) and grated cheese (100g @67p) Total cost per portion 30p Nomnomnom :D
