key pad on key board not working? look here!

My number key pad stopped working,
number 8 scrolled up number 2 scrolled down,

i really am clueless with computers, i thought my keyboard was broke,

First check if number lock was on!! this wasn't the problem,
After quite a lengthy search i found in a forum
press.. ctrl, shift and mum lock.... at same time. this worked for me,


Probably really really basic , just thought id post here, might be duplicate if so sorry,, hope it helps,,

Easy no other takers then... Press NUM LOCK, an led will light somewhere on the keyboard.

Actually, I think thats what the OP was saying. Giving advice on if the numberpad stops working.

hi,, the problem wasn't number lock on,, i think i messed up default settings some where along the line,,


my key pad was totally disabled, pressing number lock ,,on or off made no difference,,


I originally thought some one had spilt something on it,, but looked it up some one advised to hold down, ctrl. shift. and num lock,
at same time it cured the problem,,


The reason i posted was if some one had same probs,, could eliminate while trouble shooting,,
