...if you want to see Gold through $ 1,000 oz it needs to build a firm base in the 750/800 region..........the movement up to $1,000 earlier this year came on the end of a very long up-move without any major pullbacks.......no market can sustain a movement like that whatever the fundementals might be.

Unless you are willing to keep it in long term if necessary and you have a decent reserve cash buffer, DO NOT put more than about 5 to 10% of your avaiilable money on a short term punt that it may do well between now and next March.

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone knows what percentage of a physical gold fund is actually held in physical gold. I am assuming they have a certain percentage in physical gold, but use derivatives to track the remaining performance so as to reduce their friction costs.
I was specifically interested in ETFS Physical Gold fund.
