asda home delivery repeated errors again and again

Some may already know I stopped using sainsburies after their fiasco a couple of months back and I am now using asda.

On the whole my experience of sainsburies was solid, only downsides were that howler they made which was a one off and their unfavourable prices for people doing small orders. Currently delivery charge has gone up people making small orders to subsidise the free deliveries for those making large orders, so on a whole sainsburies is very unfavourable for me at the moment.

Using asda another bonus is the min order size of £25 is before discounts so a order can be below £25 when discounts taken into consideration and if they substitute they wont charge extra for a more valuable substitute ( i have benefited from this once so far). Whilst sainsburies used to subsitute a lot particuly replacing special offer items with non special offers pumping up my price.

However here comes my vent with asda, when I started using them my sister warned me to check my deliveries as they frequently with her missed items, she said pretty much every other order. My first 2 orders were ok but since then its been quite bad, out of the last 4 weeks orders 3 of them I have had at least 1 item missing, once they came back and noticed it without me knowing, the 2nd time I rang up and their guy came round to give me my missing bag and yesterday they forgot my bread and I havent noticed until now so probably too late for them to bring it and I can only hope for a refund for the bread. This if course leads to a bigger problem all the money I spent on sandwich stuff is effectively wasted unless I can get bread from elsewhere (not easy for me).

So asda is cheaper but in return a lot of mistakes which makes me realise I did overreacted when sainsburies messed up once as I was used to a very solid service. Do asda make these mistakes all over the country or is this something local to me, incidently all the good deliveries were from one delivery woman, every other delivery person I have had (3 different people) have made mistakes. Sainsburies are defenitly more organised, they take their time unloading and have it all outside my front door when they knock and hand the bags over slowly, asda clearly rush more handing over the bags as fast as they can and I had to wait 10 minutes yesterday for the guy to get my stuff unloaded so was probably all mixed up with others and hence the mistake.

Hmm… I used Asda for a long time, but got fed up with missing items. They were not charged, but I then had to go shopping to get them! They would also miss a key meal item like a leg of lamb in the same way, again no charge but a lot of disruption. They have your phone number, so why not ring and ask?

Anyway that pushed me away to Tesco for a couple of years. However in January to May this year they really went downhill. Terrible quality problems with fruit and veg, plus very expensive suspicious substitutions. (they don’t price match the subs) They also were expensive compared to Asda, but at least no missing items to make me go shopping.

Unfortunately in May they overcharged me £15 on an £85 order, and absolutely refused to refund. After a few emails they either did not reply or just sent a standard stupid reply. So I went back to Asda. (Farnborough branch)

I have to say they have really improved! The fruit and veg quality is brilliant, they still do their substitutions on a price match basis, and nothing is out of stock/missed. So I suppose it is luck to some degree. I have seen a lot of criticism of Asda home delivery on forums, but my experience with them is now good. I hope it improves for you soon.

in my case I am charged its listed on my receipt but simply not in one of my delivered bags. I think financially I am better of with asda but just need to go through my bags now everytime they deliver to make sure its all there.

Well since May my weekly orders have been all complete, and all subs have been price-matched. As you say though, it’s wise to check you’ve received everything.

:hello: not_loaded you must be near me in west surrey i'm in camberley.
If i do online shopping i use asda i found the tesco service rubbish and they dont price match subtitutions which means you end up with really expensive stuff you dont want.

on another tangent i would love to be a home shopping picker all the shopping with none of the cost..
Other women want a boob job. Honey the only silicone i'm interested in is on a 12 cup muffin tray, preferably shaped like little hearts

Hi. Yes, quite close. I’m very happy with the Asda gang from Farnborough. When you add up the time, the petrol, the parking and the hassle for a shop visit, I reckon it’s one of the best bargains around today.

Plus you don’t impulse buy. (or the kids don’t…)
