Hi All,
Our washer/dryer is smelling. When you wash clothes its fine, but when you use the dryer the clothes come out smelling musty and sometimes of what I can only describe as smelling of Oil.
Are the tumble dryer sheets still about used to be called Bounce? Would that do any good? Any other suggestions?
TIA

Hi
I had a recommendation from engineer who fixed my machine for this problem. My washer dryer smelt (and all clothes washed in it) of 'damp dishcloth' musty smell. I now use soda crystals (about £1.50 from Tesco for large amount) about once a month. Initially clean all parts you can get at, such as drawer, wash water through drum and out of fluff filter. Then use soda crytals on a hot, prob 60 degrees, with nothing else in machine (put them in dispensing drawer, same amount as you would powder). Smell should be much less, then you can use a small amount included in your wash along with washing powder. After this you should be able to just do monthly 'maintenance'. Be careful how you store as soda crystals are corrosive, and get damp - I use a labelled plastic sandwich box kept up high!
This is normally effective and really cheap, so hope it helps!
