Hi, i have a 207cc with a very leaky roof.
I am currently fighting Peugeot to try and get my money back as they cant fix it.
Is there anyone else out there with the same leaking problem on their 207cc?
I am trying to prove to them that it is not just me and would love you to get in touch...

have a read of the following, I know it relates to the VW EOS but when you read it, it seems that this issue could relate to all hard folding top cars.
Appropriate regular lubrication and avoiding the use of pressure washers in the area of the seals seems to keep this kind of roof water tight.

I'd be very interested to know if this solves your problem.0 -

Im suprised the amount of people who dont inspect their seals, i have fixed hundreds of sunroof seals by re seating them and applying a lubricant to keep them supple0 -
Yes!!!! This problem is ongoing with my mum's car. The car has been in teh garage so many times she's had a courtesy car more often than her own car. The local garage said they couldn't do anymore so it's with Peugeot at the moment. She told the dealership very quickly that she rejected the car. They asked her to give them an opportunity to fix it. Many months later it's now in Coventry and she has yet another courtesy car. Have been in touch with Trading Standards who gave her the appropriate information, letters she needed etc. Awaiting the outcome in Coventry (incidentally the local garage is our nearest centre of excellence but they couldn't fix it, so it's gone to HQ at Coventry). PM me if you wish!0

I came across this issue with the EOS researching it for my Mum who is in the market for a 4 seater convertible right now.
I think the fault lies with the sales process, at the time of delivery customers need to be briefed on the care of their roof seals, given the first bottle of lubricant as part of the deal and their attention drawn the the car handbook where this issue should be documented. This seems to be what the VW dealer in the article above is doing.
A VW technician I'm in contact with on another forum has suggested that there is a real problem with the EOS roof that VW don't know how to fix. This advice seem to conflict with the above article.
Either way I think the next step for the 207 CC problem is to read the above article, contact the Peugeot dealer or customer services for advice on the correct lubricant and perhaps suggest to them they should be helping their customers out with this maintenance issue instead of "stonewalling" them and take it from there.0 -
I hope you get it fixed soon

I think any open top car needs some TLC for it's roof, folding hard top, canvas or otherwise.
On a bit of a whim I took my Mum into our local BMW showroom to take a look at the 1 series convertible. I was a little surprised that she warmed to it convinced that she would be going for the A3 Cab. or possibly the EOS. Even more to my surprise was after the test drive she really had clicked into the whole RWD balanced chassis thing and I'm now thinking this is the way she's going to go. A3 Cab. test drive next Monday so it's not settled yet. All 3 of these cars have a "real cost" over 3 years of about £20K for the spec. she is interested in, so they are comparable on costs.0 -
You will probably never fix it as ive attemped a few on the 206cc and the 207 cc and ive followed the dealer mod to the letter.ive given up and sent them to the dealer with the same expensive result.
I wont touch them now and in my opinion the only way to tackle this problem is to jack up the wing mirrors and run a different make of car underneath;)Sorry:money:

My thought is if you must cut the roof off a perfectly good car
stick with a canvas roof. They need care too but I have been surprised at how well insulated they are and how good they can be at keeping wind noise at bay. Much simpler less problematic solution to a retractable roof.

GREAT NEWS...
Thank you to everyone who replied to my initial message.
After 6 months of complaining to the dealer and finally rejecting the car under the sales of goods act to both the managing director of peugeot uk and the actual dealership, i finally had a meeting yesterday with a technical specialist who came down to kent to view my car from head office at coventry.
As expected the car failed a water test in front of the speicalist (leaking in 5 different places along the seals), and 2 hours later, I Walked away (well they actually gave me a lift home) leaving my car in their hands and a refund for the full purchase price of the car. THANK YOU TO THE TECH WIZ FROM HQ!
Having had numerous soft tops of various makes, which didn't have water leaks, the quality of this vehicle was unacceptable. It took a lot of fighting and all i can say to others in the same position is, stand your ground. These dealers are not above the law and you ARE entitled to reject the car under the sales of goods act if you have given them 'reasonable' time to fix the problem and they don't.
thanks again.

As Peugeot first made cars with this type of roof in about 1937, yes 1937, I do think you have high expectations that in only 70 yrs they will be able to make it leakproof. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
