I have has this exact problem in my local Asda before.went to my local asda tuesday12th august. i used the self scanner, scanned a £1.00 coupon which was then deducted from my bill only to find the sales assistant to come up to me, tell me my coupon was photocopied and was not acceptable. i told her it was an internet coupon she said it didnt matter and of all things she the voided my coupon and added the £1.00 back onto my bill. i felt like a criminal. just wanted you all to know
Only when i asked for the two coupons back they said no!
I did complain via email to asda CS, but just got an email saying they would forward my email to the store.
That was months ago, and I have not been back there sinceI Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -

They were coloured coupons from a magazine, so they couldn't even have been mistaken for photocopied ones. My boyfriend was with me at the time, and was absolutley horrified at the way she acted.
Honestly, I swear they would have treated a shoplifter better.
Never been back there since, and never will go back.
I tried using a printed coupon in Asda and was told off by the cashier and till manager( in front of all other customers) that I had brought in a photocopied coupon and it wouldn't be accepted - it was a 50p Internet voucher on a product I was buying and my shop was over £100!
I contacted the company that were giving out the coupons online and they replied saying that Asda don't have a corporate policy of rejecting these kind of coupons and that they work closely with managers to ensure that they ARE accepting them. They said they would contact the store and sort it out but I daren't even try and use coupons now after being embarrassed like that!!!:o0 -
Hi, this was only my 2nd post, i didnt think it would get such a response. Thank you to all those how have replied with their similar experiences. I do feel this sort of attitude towards coupons being redeemed should stop. Everyone likes a bargin and the SA cant say they dont, so why discriminate against us. Sorry just another thing off my chest.0

I totally agree with everyone above. After having a lucky beginning with all my coupons being accepted, I recently encountered some major problems. The latest was in Tesco where the SA called over the Team Leader who was quite abrupt and said that they do not accept internet coupons and never have. I told him otherwise and showed him the policy (from this site) and he still disputed it. I stood my ground - went to Customer Services who called over the manager. The manager apologised - said she had already spoken to the Team Leader and told him he was wrong - and said that if I handed in the coupons to CS they would give me a refund on every coupon! Which they did! I left feeling very pleased with myself.
Not only that - she asked me if she could keep my Tesco policy which she would then photocopy and leave at each till!!!0 -
