Complain to customer services. Interestingly I had a better experience there yesterday having been overcharged - £3 instead of a 3 for £2 offer. They not only refunded £1.54 (more than the difference) but also gave me a gift card with £2 credit for goodwill. They said it was there policy to do so.If money saving starts to involve irritation or frustration the fine line between thrift and greed should be examined.0

Hi
I know not to bother using the self-service tills for scanning coupons as they call SA over anyway.
But yeah everytime I use my coupons in Asda I find out that the Sales Assistants know nothing about them. Like today the SA had to call over the team leader, who then called the floor manager who then called Headquarters when finally my 1 pound off coupon was accepted! It was lunchtime and I was only getting a few items for my lunches but what a lot of hassle I have to go through every time!!!
In the long run it is still worth it though. :rolleyes:0 -
I tried to use 2 coupons in asda a few weeks back and was told they no longer accept them at all unless you buy the product!I can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0

having had very similar experiences in Tesco and Asda, I now take ALL the coupons I intend to use straight to customer services and show them.
I say that 'I don't want to embarrass the cashier by offering to use them on my shopping' and will it be OK if I present them to the cashier once my shopping has been scanned through the till. They then explain the coupon policy and so when I get to the cashier I can say... "hmm, well I spoke to customer services earlier and they said it was OK to use them."

I have a question, what if you only have a black and white printer? the MOCs look like photocopies don't they? how can the store tell if it's a photocopy or a B&W printed MOC?just in case you need to know:

Not had many problems at my local Tesco's, I just pick the youngest and most bored looking cashier and as long as they scan then they take them, if they don't scan they just give them me back. The only time I had any drama was when the till manager insisted I went and got served on another till to cut down the queues and he had no idea what to do with coupons!!0

I have used coupons at the self scan tills at my local Asda with no problem at al, no SA came near me. I used £12 worth of MOC in Asda yesterday with no problems, the SA needed a Supervisor to override the till as I had exceeded the limit allowed but nothing was said and they were all accepted.:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

I have been using coupons since June this year in my local Tesco with very few problems. I've noticed in my local press that Asda also near where I live had some really good offers. As I haven't been to Asda since couponing I went to cs and asked first if I could use coupons and showed her a few. She said they were ok to use.
So did a £20.00 shop (loads of bargains definiately cheaper than Mr T's). Got to the checkout and randomly gave coupons. The sa said that's your lot we only accept 5. I had given him 5 very small coupons first as obviously a bit nervous. If I had known I would have obviously given him Marie Claire, Mitchum and £2.00 Quorn coupon.
Oh well put it down to experience. Moral of the story is, use as many coupons as possible at Mr T's and then go to Asda on way home and use 5 more. Ha Ha sorted!!!:j :j :j

The one and only time I tried using a coupon at Asda (on the self scan), the SA came over, told me they didn't except any mocs at all, and never had. She then marched me across the store, while shouting at me, and tried to put twice the value of my coupons back on to my shopping.
They were coloured coupons from a magazine, so they couldn't even have been mistaken for photocopied ones. My boyfriend was with me at the time, and was absolutley horrified at the way she acted.
Honestly, I swear they would have treated a shoplifter better.
Never been back there since, and never will go back.0
