Hi,
I have AVG as my virus checker which is updated automatically, all working fine. I use EWIDO, the free version, to do virus scans as a back-up, but have been unable to update it for a while.

Has anybody else had the same problems?

Can anybody suggest something else that is free that I can use as a replacement back-up AV scanner?

Mine's updating ok.

Try uninstalling, download again and re-install.

Ewido isn't an AV product, it's an anti-trojan. As an alternative try PrevX; it's an intrusion protection product.

Because it's shareware the auto updates stop after a certain time.
But you should still be able to update manually.
If not, uninstall and reinstall the program like mentioned previously.
