I was lucky enough to be given a Lexmark printer/scanner/fax X8350
It came without a mains lead, I've looked in pc world and it's £69 !
Is there a "universal" cable I can get, it's a 3 pin cable, not the standard 2 pin one

What does the cable look like?Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0

Is this the type of cable your referring to with a 3 pin female plug that goes into the printer?

Ask about, if you know anybody like me, then you'll get one for free.
Is it a kettle style connector?
If so a few quid should sort you out. Ebay/local computer shop/car boot.

It would be cheaper to buy a complete new scanner.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Dave.
Sorry, only just realised the one I want has round holes in it, I don't think this one has, although I'm not sure!0 -
Does it look a bit like a Clover leaf? The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.

Yes, it does a bit...but the actual pin holes are round as well0

If it's the "Clover Leaf" style then you can pick them up for £5 on Amazon / Ebay!Laters

Is it this one http://www.partmaster.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=1226738&query=compaq%20n1015v - still expensive but posted in case one of the more clued-up knows the "proper" name (just sounded similar to my Compaq laptop power lead).0
