Hi,
I did have a Fujitsu Li1705 that i got in april 07 £399.99 , to cut a long story short the screen broke and it wasnt worth repairing i was told. I have a new Fujitsu (mobile)and as the old one is ok apart from a knackered screen what parts can i put in my new 1? Memory etc.
The old one is just sitting in my room going to waste so what i can salvage i will.Somebody has mentioned getting a case and using the 80gb as a external hard drive but i have no idea.

It seems an alright laptop, shame about the celeron processor though.
It can't be that expensive to change the screen?
I don't really know though.0 -
I opened up the old laptop last night and noticed a crack in the case aswell, everything inside the casing unit seems fine but it wont turn on, when i connect the power lead not even that light comes on ??
Any ideas as to what i should do/try next?0 -
I would imagine that the hard drive, memory, dvd drive etc are all fine and working but the motherboard may be broken as it has a cracked case and no power.Sounds like it has been dropped or trodden on.
Probably the battery is fine. If it is the same as the one for your new machine it would be worth keeping for a spare(check the size and power rating are the same).
You can get a caddy to take the harddrive and just plug it in via usb,you need a caddy for 2.5 inch drives .
Peopkle sometimes buy broken machines for the spare parts as it is cheaper than buying individual components so ebaying it as broken but salvageable might be an option.0 -
