Can anyone with experience on this type of thing help.
I have a LG plasma tv model 42PX5D, its 27 months old and the screen has failed, I have no extended guarantee.
Do i have a case under the sale of goods act as the TV has not been "durable" 2 1/2 years for a £2000 tv set is hardly acceptable.. Also i've searched the web and found it seems to be a common issue ?
Thanks for any advise

Hi,
Plasma TV's do have a short life than LCD due to the two gases it uses so that might be an issue. All these screen life stats are all using lab conditions, therefore a false guide in everyday use.
Can't you claim under house insurance?? something like the cat jumped up on it and it tipped over0 -
You're entitled to a repair or refund/replacement under the sale of goods act by the retailer. A £2000 plasma TV should last an awful lot longer than that. Of course it depends on where you bought it from. If you bought it from play.com for example then that's outside the UK and Sale of Goods act has no juristiction and hence you don't really have any consumer rights. Plasma screens at the moment have a half life in the decades."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Unless bought on finance/CC as the finance people are equally and severally liable.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

That's true but only if bought on finance/credit card. Section 75 makes them liable even if buying from abroad. Depends on the OP's circumstances as to who to go through."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Hi,
Please contact Trading Standards who are very helpful and know the rules backwards.
With their help you will soon reach a satisfactory result.
For some reason retailers respond well to Trading Standards input.
