HSBC CC Default - Removing Due to charges?

Hi all... a common story I guess of beign reckless with credit at a very young age. I went over my overdraft as an 18 year old with a part time job, had one charge and everything spiralled from there.
Eventually I defaulted on my CC account, this was over 4 years ago now, though I can't help but think that despite being marked as 'satisfied' it's still severely hurting my credit score and to be honest I feel it's incredibly unfair!
I've managed to reclaim both my HSBC current account, and my HSBC CC charges for exceeding credit limits... Though of course these were given to me as 'goodwill gestures' and HSBC maintained they were doing nothing wrong.
The CC charges made it hard for me to keep within my credit limit, though it was more the current account charges that affected my CC problems.
Is there anything I can do to get the default removed from my account? Or at least a decent way I can approach HSBC (even politely if needs be) to remove it? I know I've only got about a year and a half before it should disappear from my file, but I'd really like to clear it before then.
ANY advice, tips, or pointers on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Rich

If the account defaulted - why would they remove it? this would only happen if it were on there accidentally...
Think you'll have to wait a year (satisfied defaults are not too bad anyway)Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Credit reports have factual information on them about how credit agreements have been conducted.
Essentially you conducted it badly (hence the default) and it has been recorded as such - nothing unfair about that.
It won't be removed from your file.0 -
Sounds like a no go then... just to clarify though I wasn't thinking along the lines of 'well it's been over 4 years now, maybe they'll just take it off for me'...
I was wondering if there was anything I could do with regards to bank and CC charges causing me to be beyond my limit. Had it not been for these charges I'd never have defaulted on the account, in fact I'd go as far as saying if I wasn't charged in the first instance on my HSBC current account, I'd not have incurred a single charge on the HSBC CC... hence why I feel it's unfair.
Though i'm guessing since the CC and current accounts are handled seperately there's not a great deal I can do?0
