Since you are with AOL - it's not going to be easy as it would be with other providers. AOL are well known for not being 'standard' as they insist on using their own software for internet access.

You basically need to look at the AOL support pages and find the instructions for using Outlook Express and AOL - http://www.aol.co.uk/help/members/aol_settings/email_imap.html

in Outlook, Tools Options email accounts you need to set up a new account with all your login details that accesses the account in IMAP format.

    Good Luck.
  • Get rid of AOL!!!!!

Look on these forums, and some of the articles on the site for the better internet providers!

I have to agree with Matty - if you can ditch AOL - I would !!

There are plenty of other better deals and providers, and best of all they don't force you into using their access software. I won't start to list the AOL issues and one particluar Horror Story (even AOL admitted fault) that I've resolved for friends.

has i have just found out i ended up calling aol because outlook worked then stopped altogether i have just logged on today, i have many problems now the computer started to do a scan disk and has found bad clusters ( not there before ) also came up with windows was not closed properly ( i know it was ).
i am looking at moving to fast4net as im paying £15.99 to aol for anytime.
will aol be eay enough to remove from my system??

also im i looking at alot of money to get someone out or take the computer somewhere to nuke the thing as there is so much cr*p on it from when my dad had it.
cant nuke it myself not only because i dont know how i also dont have a windows disk or anything really it was all on it when i got it.
and im only running on windows 98.
