The new version of my book the Money Diet launches in December. I've pushed my publishers into organising an 'early delivery' offer for site users at a special price.
There are 100 new pages of MoneySaving in the book and the whole thing is updated.
They've gone with Amazon and the price £3.99 (rec retail £7.99) and the book will arrive on 14 November rather than later. (the amazon price will go up after this too).
I would love it if you fancy getting the book. Early sales help the positioning in bookshops and ensure more people will see it. If you like the site and it's ever helped you - i would ask you help me by going for this offer now (if you're going to buy the book)
A note
While the book is more expensive at Play.com, as delivery is free, if you're just buying the Money Diet by itself, it's a smidgeon cheaper.
However Play's sales don't count towards the bookseller list, which is a bummer for me, you also won't get the book early.
Remember Amazon has just changed its delivery option so if you spend £15 you get free delivery (used to be £19) so if you're stocking up on Christmas prezzies, its a good time to group together
Thanks folks

Owners privilege but is this posting in the wrong place?
You do not allow other forum members to post referrals anywhere other than the referrals board.
Also I believe you do not allow others to advertise goods, services and/or companies even on the referral board quote http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=1009362&postcount=3
Can you clarifiy?
You are also influencing (massively) where people should buy the product to quite understandably influence sales figures of your book.
While people will benefit greatly from reading your book and following the advice I am concerned about the bias. Are you thinking of contributing a percentage of sales to some of the charities you favour?Wealthsaving - a way of life?0 -

And your problem with this is?
Martin owns the site so surely he should be able to post what he wants?
A great many readers of all the boards in this chat forum have been eagerly awaiting publication of this book, so is it not right that as soon as it becomes available, then we should all know - especially as we make a £4 saving per book? Martin is not telling you to buy it, nor where to buy it from - he actually says that it's cheaper via another site, when P&P are taken into account, on this single purchase. Ok, if you want to buy from there, go ahead. If you do not want to 'manipulate' the sales figures, buy it elsewhere. As far as I can see, Martin is being completely up front and honest about everything to do with buying the book via Amazon. Tell me other authors or singers etc don't manipulate their sales, but hide this from we public.
Advertising. influencing, manipulating? He hasn't influenced whether I buy this book or not - I was gong to get it anyway. What he has done is tell me where I can get it soonest and cheaply.
Owners priviledges - undoubtedly, but Martin has helped so many thousands of people that I think it's fair.
Charity - I think you'll find sizeable contributions are already made. Also, let's face it - if we are getting £4 off, then Martin's profits will be lower, won't they?0 -

Absolutely owners priviledge and I'm taking it. The book is to complement this site. If you read the core remit you'll see its even defined in the about us. As for forum rules, this is a 100% privately owned site - rules are there to make it run smoothly. However I could add a 'any owners of this site who want to tell people about their new book which further helps people take on companies and save money' rule if you like?
As for
You are also influencing (massively) where people should buy the product to quite understandably influence sales figures of your book.
First of all Im sending people to the cheapest place (if they multi buy), second to the only place they get it early. And most importantly I'm very transparent about it. Most authors push for more expensive book prices as they get more. I've pushed for this to be as cheap as possible - have a look at the price of Alvin's last book. For me this is about spreading moneysaving to the widest group of people possible.
As for giving to charity - so far since June I have donated about £24,000 to the sites charities (see about us), the amount i will get from the affiliate link for this book and the fact that it goes to Amazon is about £500.
This isn't a money making thing for me. This is about reaching the widest number of people. The aim of going through amazon is to get higher in the bestsellers lists. That'll get more books out there and more people learning about money saving. I consider that a unadulterated good.
Yet even if the books a bestseller, the likliehood of me earning any more from the book is limited. When a book sells you get an advance, any royalties earn come from that advance. For the first book i didn't 'earn out my advance' for the second book i doubt i will either - and just for perspective the amount i earned in the advance for the second book is less than the charity donation figure i mentioned early.
I hold my head and hands high on this, and I'd hoped regular users would know that!Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.
