Howdie folks,
I applied for a Egg money card to use for a muel for stoozing, I already have a Egg credit card so thought it would be in the bag.... Strange thing was it was accepted online however i never received the card. After emailing them they informed me that it was subject to further credit checks and my application had been denied... I h ave asked them why this was declined and am awaiting a answer, but its a bit strange, have had a Egg credit card for 4 years, never missed a payment checked my credit score at experian and that looks pretty solid....
Anyone else had this issue ?
Does anyone know a alternative to Egg money for a muel card ?

Hmm not really.
I think some people have managed to mule using an MBNA card such as Virgin, but they are not really supposed to into positive balance and will charge a fee for transferring the funds to your Bank Account.
I think I would appeal your Egg Money card on the basis that you were accepted initially.0 -
Thanks NickX
Is there any advice on how to appeal to them ? I have been sending them emails, I asked why it was declined and they say that they basically wont tell me ?
I'm now annoyed as I have been a customer for so long I think its a bit off to be told I cannot have a auxiliary service without explanation of why.0 -

In general there is no appeal - except 'to the facts'. In other words, if a positive factor has not been taken into consideration which was relevent to your assessment* (like second household income? a recent payment on credit or mortgage account that would make you less indebted on paper a recent pay rise or promotion that would raise your income in the next 12 months...etc) If you have such additional facts then you should report these to Egg and ask them to reassess your application.
*the existence of stoozing balances ought to mean that the card company should have high confidence that it will get its money back. But since stoozing is unofficial - and directly at odds with the intention of the bank - which is to charge you interest - it's not going to impress them is it?.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -

As it's the Egg Money card in question that's not as much of an issue though is it? It's intended to run between negative and positive balances with them making their money from commission as a result of your spending on it rather than as a result of interest payments.0
