Antivirus 2009 - am I cured?

My computer was attacked by antivirus 2009 two days ago.
I used the advice of Browntoa in a recent thread by using Combifix and the Idiot's guide. The computer seems to be working ok (except email but that may be Virgin's fault) but I am nervous about using it for internet banking and other financial transactions in case my system is not secure.
How can I find out if my computer is now clean?

If you followed the advice fully your system should be clean.Antivirus 2009 uses trojans, such as Zlob or Vundo, to spread. These trojans lurk in !!!!!!/warez websites disguised as video codecs, and, upon entering the system, floods the user with popups and fake system notifications, supposedly to inform him of an infection.

Thanks espresso.
We are using free AVG, win patrol and win defender.
Incidentally, the virus got in while my wife was doing research for school work she was preparing (geography and maps of France).0
