Car Tax

From the D Telegraph last weekend. IF you have a car that the tax will go up on next April, and your current tax is due for renewal at the end of AUGUST or SEPTEMBER 2008 (at the latest) Then only tax it for 6 months and then for another year when that runs out. It will only delay the hike, but will save you money if you are going to keep the car.

*yawn*
Not this again.
And if you really want to save money on a tax that's likely not to be happening, you buy 12 months, retax in March and get a refund as 6 months costs more, pro rata, than 12 months.0 -
Can't see why that would be a *yawn*. Good advice as far as I can see.
Can't see how buying 12 months and renewing early in March 2009 could help either. Why would you be able to buy six months early? Surely you have to get a renewal reminder to take to the post office before you can renew? Doesn't make sense to me.0
