Can I upgrade my RAM?

Options
Hi

I have an HP computer which is running Windows XP, I've had it since new and I reckon its around 6 years old. I've now passed it on to my kids and they love gaming on it, but its a bit slow for some of their games and keeps crashing. looking at some of the games they have bought they are for more RAM than the machine has got. Could I get it upgraded to 1GB RAM? The processor is Intel Celeron CPU 1.80 GHz.

Thanks

Buy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning

whats the model of the laptop.....older RAM can be quite expensive now as its not really made anymore

try crucial (link above) and it can search your laptop and give you options on RAM upgrade and cost
If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

You can still check it at Crucial, either selecting your machine form the dropdown list or by running the system scanner. That will tell you if you can upgrade it and what to buy. You can then buy it from anywhere, however as RAM is so cheap nowadays I'd buy from Crucial as they offer good guarantees.

The only problem you may have is that as it is 6 years old it may use an old type of RAM like DDR not DDR2 which could be expensiv eot buy new in which case ebay may be a good choice.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die
