Hi, don't know if this helps but my quarterly bill for just my gas cooker was £9.00 last quarter. I used my cooker everyday but not always the oven. So when you break it down, it's pretty good value. I've now got a gas hob and electric oven so expect my gas bill to be even lower but heaven help my electric bill.

On prepayment metre - I checked a couple of months ago, and for just over an hour on gas mark 5, it was around 75p. I would guess that it should be slightly less if on direct debit.

Surely you mean 7.5p for an hour.

My gas oven is rated at 2.4Kwh , on full power on my gas tariff that works out at about 6p.

It depends on the oven we got a new oven at the end of last year A rated specs state that it uses 0.76KWH. which isn't that bad really
