Hi, hope someone here can help me, I would like to set up a website that would include a blog and advertising. I bought a domain from 123-reg, it includes some free web hosting in the package, my question is, would the free hosting support a blog in wordpress with adverts, it includes a homepage and 10 templates, if not is there any other decent free hosting or would it be best to pay for it, if so who with?
Although a novice at all of this I am aiming high in the long term, just need a bit of expert advice to get started so any comments and suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

You can get a free wordpress.com weblog that you can then point your own domain at. Works well and gives you a free, hosted wordpress blog on your own custom domain."In all affairs it's a healthy thing now and then to hang a question mark on the things you have long taken for granted." - Bertrand Russell0

If your aiming high in the long term, you are best off purchasing hosting. It's alot faster and reliable than those free hosts. As far as im aware, the 123 reg webhosting will only let you build and host a site using there own web-based software.
If you need any help finding some *affordable*, reliable hosting, feel free to PM me.
(i offer a 10% discount on hosting to all MSE users through my web design company)0 -
I use https://www.tfcph.com, they are very reliable, and best of all, FREE!0

i use https://www.webhostingbuzz.com and if you buy 24 months it comes to $3.95 a month which is about £2 a month!0

I use https://www.siteground.com not the cheapest but very good value for money. If you sign up for two years it works out at £5.95 per month.
Most importantly they have auto installers of some of the best free content management systems. I use joomla for all my sites. Basically it allows you to build huge websites without any coding knowledge.
Templates can be bought for joomla sites at a fraction of the cost of getting a designer to create you a new site from scratch.
I'm not sure if I can link my work here to show you, so pm if you want to see what it can doDavid James aint got nothing on me0 -
123-reg do also offer paid hosting. I think the restrictions like having to use their GUI editor (painfully slow when ive used it) and having their banner down the side aren't the case when you pay for their hosting. I would certainly expect none of that. Anyway their hosting is cheap and simple to upgrade to from the 123 reg control panel and is probably no worse than any other shared hosting.0

www.register1.net come highly recommended0

Geekdata.co.uk or a2b2.com both good and can install a blog with just a few clicks.0

If you're still looking for hosting I would recommend https://www.bluehost.com
I have used them for over two years and they're very good and provide a feature rich offer. The best price is $6.95 a month, but you have to sign up for two years to get that price.
