Need help writing complaint letter to asda..

Today I checked my bank account before I went out to buy a birthday present for someone. All seemed fine so I went to shops where my card was declined on a purchase. Didnt have a clue what was happening so I came home called the bank and apparently when I had my asda shopping delivered last wednesday they take a reserve on my money before they deliver which is ok..however I found out that this same reserve was still on my account 5 days after they had taken the actual payment amount. According to the bank this reserve can often be on for 10 days or more.I want to write to them to complain as I now dont have the birthday present which I needed for tomorrow. I am also peeved that they can withhold my money for so long after I have actually paid etc.
