Buying a Camcorder

I'm looking to buy a MiniDV or DVD camcorder but not sure of a good model under £300.
The reason i'm going for MiniDV tape or DVD is that its easier to store and cheap.
I'm not interested in Hard Disk or Flash drive ones as I will not be editing or transferring to PC much. I also have a low spec PC so this may be a prob.
Any suggestions?
Thnx

I went for MiniDV because I was advised that DVD ones could easily be damaged, the lens gets jogged out of place or something. Not entirely sure about it but a friend of mine had one that was only a year old that they had knocked on something and would no longer work - you can guess what happened about the guarantee on that one! My MiniDV has taken a few knocks quite happily! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
