How do I use the Wii with Mobile Internet?

Options
Asking on behalf of a friend.

My friend has a Wii and wants to access the internet on it with his Vodafone mobile internet dongle.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of how to do this.

I've searched google but can't find anything of use.. Thanks!
I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!

Yes, you would have to plug the dongle into a laptop/desktop which is wireless enabled. Share the internet connection and set up the laptop/desktop to act as a wireless access point for the Wii to connect to.

    Then, follow the instructions here:-

Also, you could do this with a network cable between the Wii and the laptop/desktop but you'd have to buy a Wii LAN adaptor for the Wii.

the op is refering to a vodaphone dongel , not a offical nintendio one what you will need to to is have the vodaphone dongel in 1 usb port and a nintendio dongel in another and it should share the connection. however im sure playing mario kart will use up any allowance you have quickly and the singnal needs to be good .
wifi is differnt from mobile broband and you will not be able to conect to a mobile dongel

As devizes says, the vodaphone dongle doesn't actually give a signal out, so the Wii wouldn't see anything. You would have to buy the wii/DS dongle to let it connect. But mobile internet is going to be laggy, you wouldn't have much chance playing online. Mario kart may be playable, but games like Smash Bros are right out.
