Weekend in London - last minute tips

Hard to define dodgy. It is on the North Circular and there are not that many houses or shops there, so you won't see many people wandering around. Hanger Lane is your better option. There are shops, restaurants, and cafes there.Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. - Proust0

There is a bus outside the hotel that you can catch to the tube station it says on tripadvisor and I would use it at night.Like the previous poster says it is hard to define dodgy, but as it has no houses or people walking nearby at night (unless there is a big event on at Wembley) and cars just whizz past at speed, you may be left feeling a bit vunerable. I may be just being cautious, but like many city dwellers, I try to minimize any safety risks eg. I don't take badly lit, quiet shortcuts, sit on a train carriage/upper bus deck on my own if I have alternatives.0 -
Hanger Lane tube station is in the middle of a massive round a bout (I think) it did look a 'dodgey' area, especially late at night. Is your 1st time going to the Travelodge after your day in London? Not sure if there is a taxi rank outside, sorry. Thanks everyone for your tips!
For those of you that know the area or have stayed at the Wembley Travelodge:
- What's the walk to Hanger Lane / Stonebridge Park like - is it really dodgy? Also, is there a taxi rank outside the station (Saturday could be a late night as I'm seeing a play)?
Looking on the Tube website, Hanger Lane looks like a quicker tube journey from central London - any thoughts on that?
Thanks again!Panda xx

Hangar Lane is preferable to Stonebridge Park at night imo. The roundabout has several subways so that you can surface in the right place. There isn't a taxi rank here. Once you're off the roundabout the walk back to the Travelodge is OK......0 -
Just a little silliness really, but when you do go to Hanger Lane station, after you go through the gates you should stop in the middle of the booking hall (by the wooden seats) and have a conversation (or say something at least). The echo/sound effect is very interesting.Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. - Proust0
