Hi im sure ive heard about this somewhere but cant remember how it can help im looking for ways to keep the heat in its a very open plan layout in our flat and i want the heat to say in this winter someone told me about this stuff you can put behind your radiators a bit like tin foil and it bounces the heat off the wall and back into the room.... any other ms tips or any ideas people have for keeping open plan spaces warm are soooooo welcome our gas bill was HUGE last winter ( it was our first in our flat and we moved in in nov and had no idea how much it cost to heat ) but there is no doors and the hall dining room and living room are all open plan our kitchen and back stairs (which are cold) have a door on but is left open for the cat to access food and litter trying to save the £££££ for winter coming up!!

could the cat food and litter tray go into another part of the flat so thedoor can be closed?
if you look in thePreparing for Winter thread theres lots of ideas ,like themal curtain lining, fleecey blankets for wrapping round whilst watching the, telly, hats, fingerless gloves and so on.
Just a thought, but if you work full time it might be an idea to eat a hot meal ,perhaps cooked in a slow cooker, when you get in from work, then fill a flask and heat up a couple of wheat bags, get tucked up in bed early ,take the telly to the bedroom and cuddle the cat."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0 -
Hi there  Now that this has fallen from the front page of Old Style, I'll move it to the In My Home Board, to see if you get more replies
