  • I guess I'm in the minority in recommending getting a professional to design the site. Yes, it is straightforward to learn and write html, however it is very easy to write a badly designed, unclear and unprofessional looking webpage.

no... i know i suggested the OP to learn HTML/CSS, in the hope they'd realise how difficult it is to get a website looking GREAT, rather than AVERAGE..
    i did say
Paying someone £250 for a basic website, will be a much easier, painless idea, and you'll get a professional looking website in a matter of a few weeks...

i'm a freelancer, with some great sites coming up onto my portfolio, and i still see the most average sites, and people want them to be top of the search engine listings....

however, as this thread was started back in august of last year, and the OP didn't come back to say thank you or anything, they probably have just a template based site, that will get about 3 - 4 hits a day
  • Hi markymoo

I meant that we are both in the minority. It amazes me that people that are advertizing a business that they want to make a living out of are willing to have a 2nd rate do-it-yourself website when they could get more business just by commissioning a site from someone like yourself.
