Last xmas I was given a 'George Foreman Contact Roaster' which has been absolutely fantastic - you can quite literally do pretty much anything you like in it. I've cooked a whole chicken, other meats - even made a full shepherds pie in it. It has a removable bit for the 'sloppy foods', or you can use it in the same way as the normal grills.
Amazon shows it as out of stock/discontinued (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00008WFCY/qid=1131022258/sr=1-50/ref=sr_1_2_50/026-8213522-7240456), but for those going to Uni I'd highly recommend one - very very easy to keep clean aswell.
Sadly, I don't know how much they are, but I would guess around the £25 mark.0 -
I wanted the contact roaster but couldn't find one. I like the novelty value of a rotisserie though
