Advice needed asap

Hello I hope someone can advise me quickly.
In january this year we bought an amcor sat nav from Comet. All was well until April when it started blowing the fuse and turning off.Took it back to Comet no problems replacement all ok.
Last friday the replacement unit started doing the same blowing fuse etc.We took it back on saturday and were told someone would telephone on monday to let us know what was happening.
Monday I had a call from them and was informed that Amcor wanted the unit sent to them for examination and we would not have it back until 27th August.
My husband needs it for his job as he works a large area and needs to be there within a time limit so I am not very happy with waiting 2 + weeks.I rang Comet back today but they aren`t interested full stop and I ended up hanging up in frustration.
I don`t want a blooming Amcor -both developed the same fault after 4 months and would prefer to get a full refund and shop elsewhere as I said am not impressed with their customer care.
Can anyone advise me of my rights ie can I go to comet and demand my money back?
thanks

aks for your money back/alternative one - not the same model that you have had problems with explaining that you oh needs it for work

if they dont then get the manager down to speak to you and say that they are contractually obliged toresolve it there and then not wait 2 weeks
  • I have explained this till I`m blue in the face to them!
Right when hubby gets home we will go down to Comet and ask for a refund-I will never spend another penny in Comet again.
I wasn`t sure if I was entitled to a refund/replacement and was very annoyed with the 2 weeks waiting and I did tell them I did not want another Amcor anyway.
    Thanks

You are entitled to a refund / replacment but comet do have to assess its faulty. And it looks they are going to do this by getting the manufacturer to check this.

I seem to remember Comet do have a repair policy (as in how many days it takes to get it back) and this is shown in store. And its normally more than 2 weeks. (more like 14 - 18 working days?)
