TV Aerial quote

Options
Hi, I've received a quote to install 2 new high gain aerials at the 4-storey building I live in. The building is split into 4 flats, so each aerial will be split to feed 2 flats.
The quote is £476 + VAT. Does this sound reasonable?
Thanks

  • Thanks Andy that's helpful.
    The problem is the quote is via the managing agents of the leasehold for the house - so I am a bit over a barrel unless we cut out the managing agents and commission the work ourselves (not technically allowed). I could turn round and say I don't think the quote is reasonable though.
    Yes, aerials are at the top on the chimney, but I reckon around the following for kit (can anybody confirm this?):
    Aerials: 2 * £35
    Splitters (not sure what this really means) 2 * £25
    Cable £40
    Total = £160 inc VAT

    So this would mean £400 for what can surely be not much more than half a day's work. Even allowing for danger money it seems a bit steep.

  • Well said,Some people just aint got a clue So for £160 You can do it youself fair play to You,Let us know when you have finished.
    You could cut this down further as splitters are only about 50p,This country is a joke I get this sort of attitude day in day out That is why im thinking of giving up being self-employed.
    OH THE JOYS OF BEING SELF-EMPLOYED!! Can Travel,Will Work For Free!
