Purchase made *on* statement date - Nationwide

Hi there,
If I make a purchase on the statement date of my credit card, will it be on the old statement or the new one?
I.e. if my statement date is today but the transaction shows up after the statement is produced I don't have to pay it off until October but if I time it wrong and the transaction shows up on the 12th Aug statement then I have to clear the balance on 6th Sept, losing out on a month's interest free!
The card is Nationwide, by the way.
Thanks!

In general transactions are posted to your account 1 day later.
So it should be on the new one.
But to be on the safe side, can you wait 1 day?0 -
Wait until after statement date, and pay off the last statement in full, then you will have 6 weeks or so of interest free purchase power

I have noticed that my Asda card statements are not actually available to view until about 5 days after the statement date, and stuff that I spend on the statement date that is not included in the balance until a couple of days after the statement date but has reduced the available balance, is generally backdated to the day I spent it, and put on the first statement. I always try to wait until the day after the statement date.

Thanks guys.
I've noticed on previous statements the date of the transaction is always correct (i.e. the date I actually authorised the transaction) but often there will be a delay before it appears on my online statement
The item in question I am waiting to pay for is from ebay so needs paying for quickly but to be on the safe side I'll put the payment through paypal after midnight tonight so it should be after the statement on the 12th has been produced.0
