Hello all.
Bought a new Motherboard bundle on Sunday and am having really bad time trying o get things working. It's freezing all the while at various points of booting and when it occassionaly gets in to the XP install.
I was origioanlly trying to install onto a new SATA Hd but can't get my floppy drive working (broken already I think) to load the drivers so am now using a normal IDE.
I've tried everything I can think of, swapped everything except the PSU. I've tried 3 different copies of XP, booting from CD, booting from external floppy drive.
...I may have a little cry if I can't get it working.

Its easy, dont worry, right some tips for you, not all motherboards/bios are equal, some throw a wobbly on you. Remove all unnessary cards at this time, network/sound/TV. Make sure all ide drives are set correctly ie. Master and Slave or all drives are set to cable select (CS). Disconnect any sata drives.
Have you used all the correct wiring to the m/b (power connectors) What borad have you got?
Run the win setup cd and select to delete partitions (this is to clear any left over partial failed setups (You will lose any data you may want to keep also). That should get you going.0 -
Right, I've taken the bundle back to Maplins and had a replacement. All seems well so far.
The Bios is totally different from the previous.
Below is the pack...
