Hi all,
I need to replace my old Fortic immersion tank.
The actual physically replacing isn't a problem, it is what to replace it with?
Direct or indirect?
It is an old copper immersion heater with a bottom mounted element. Tank has a small weep around the element, and although I have emptied the tank and soldered the weep I want to replace it asap
any help much appreciated

Why not just replace it with another fortic cylinder?
If the water is electrically heated its direct, if heated from a boiler than its indirect.Mine needed a new fan so that must be whats wrong with yours:D0 -
Thanks for the reply razor,
can't seem to find a replacement unless they are direct or indirect. Unless I am looking at the wrong things.
Going to have another look around
cheers

I think they may be non compliant now. How about an unvented cylinder, you get better pressure on you hot. They are commonly called megaflows but that's a tradename. There are loads of makes, Telford was the last one I used. I'm sure there's a plumber around who can advise.0

Are we talking about a fortic combination cylinder with a small cold water tank on top if so they are freely available even in B&Q!
If its a Primatic with no header tank for the heating then thats a different matter, a pic would really help.Mine needed a new fan so that must be whats wrong with yours:D0
